For CTOs at scaling SaaS companies

Your platform got you here.

Scaling to enterprise takes a bit more.

Where scaling companies get stuck

The deal that's stuck

Your biggest prospect wants SOC 2, 99.99% uptime, and enterprise security controls before they'll sign. Your platform isn't there yet, and you're not sure how long it'll take to get there.

The team that's stretched

Your CTO is making architecture decisions, managing people, and fighting fires. You need strategic engineering leadership but can't justify a full-time VP of Engineering hire. Meanwhile, product development slows down and the things nobody has time to fix blow up on a Friday night or a Holiday weekend.

This is the most common reason founders reach out.

The AI question

Everyone on the board is asking about AI. You don't want to waste six figures on a proof of concept that goes nowhere, but you also can't afford to wait.

Track record

Results from the inside

Before advising companies on platform strategy, I built my career scaling them.

CrowdStrike

1 trillion+ events daily.

Led cloud engineering from 12 to 45+ engineers during CrowdStrike's scale to over one trillion daily events. Shipped the platform capabilities at the core of every enterprise evaluation: host management, policy enforcement, and real-time response. Shaped company-wide practices for hiring, onboarding, and management development.

Most recent role

Amazon

45% cloud cost reduction.

Built the engineering org behind Amazon Game Studios' cloud infrastructure. Drove a 45% cost cut by simplifying architecture across 30+ AWS accounts, cut MTTR from several hours to ~30 minutes, and shipped the build system that powered 15,000+ builds in 18 months. Led operational readiness for the New World alpha launch.

Blizzard Entertainment

Globally synchronized product launches.

Led global release operations for Blizzard's Games-as-a-Service franchises, coordinating platform, game, and infrastructure teams so every region went live at the same moment. Culminated in Overwatch's fully synchronized global launch, serving millions of concurrent players. Initiated the cross-org Live Ops function that made this discipline repeatable across World of Warcraft and other franchises.

A few ways I help SaaS companies get ready for enterprise customers

Platform Strategy

Find and fix what's blocking enterprise deals

I assess your platform's enterprise readiness: security, compliance, uptime, architecture. Then I build a clear roadmap to close the gaps. Concrete priorities you can execute in 90 days.

Let's find the gaps

Fractional Leadership

Engineering leadership without the full-time overhead

Your team gets a seasoned engineering leader who's scaled platforms at Amazon and CrowdStrike. I work alongside your CTO to make the architecture decisions, build the team processes, and set technical direction.

Let's talk leadership

AI Strategy

Cut through the AI noise

I help you find the high-leverage AI opportunities in your product and workflow, then build an implementation plan that delivers results without the hype. Real ROI, not science projects.

Let's cut through the noise

Who this is for

Some things I can help with. Some I can't. Being direct about both saves us both time.

When this works

  • Enterprise deals hinge on platform work (SOC 2, SLAs, security questionnaires).
  • Your CTO is stretched and platform work keeps getting deprioritized for product work.
  • You're under pressure to ship AI and not sure where to start.
  • You want a senior operator alongside your team, not a deck.

When it doesn't

  • Pre-revenue or still in product-market fit search.
  • Looking for a dev shop to build features.
  • Need a full-time hire to own this permanently.

Engagement modes

  • Readiness audit. 2–4 weeks, one deliverable. Map what enterprise wants vs. what you have, with a prioritized roadmap.
  • Fractional embed. Ongoing, alongside your team. Senior leadership coverage on architecture, hiring, and delivery.
  • Ongoing advisory. Monthly cadence. Senior second opinion for your CTO and engineering leaders.

A note on terms

Every engagement is different, so I don't publish a single price. For early-stage founders, I'm flexible on terms. We work out what makes sense for both of us.

Jorge Baranda

Hi, I'm Jorge.

I've had the privilege of building platforms at companies where the stakes were real. Cybersecurity infrastructure protecting Fortune 500s. Cloud systems powering global game studios. Real-time platforms serving millions of concurrent users.

I never went in with the goal of rebuilding things just to leave my mark. That's not my style. I go in with respect for what came before, try to understand the path that led to the current state, and then figure out the best way to get the organization where it needs to be.

Now I help scaling SaaS companies do the same thing: build platforms that win enterprise deals and don't break under pressure. I work directly with founders and CTOs. No junior consultants, no handoffs, no 50-page decks created by AI.
